Corridors were defined by buffering existing large capacity powerlines with defined offsets to the left and right of the centerline of designated rights-of-way. Preliminary data for corridor widths is taken form the Resource Management Plan and powerlines were GPSed with a mapping grade GPS receiver, and post processed against a local base station. Those lines wer then buffered in GIS to define the corridor limits. Define utility corridors for location of similar or compatible approved rights-of-way to reduce environmental impacts. The Coyote Valley and Dry lake corridors were defined in the Lincoln county legislation in 2005 and corridors in the Apex and Moapa Indian Reservation areas were defined in special legislation.
